He sent thousands of hand written note cards to all of his clients with a simple message.

"I like you."

Every month. For years.

The results are pretty amazing...and it got me thinking.

They say the prize jewel level relationship we are hoping to build is people who know you, like you, trust you.

The way most people interpret that is as a single destination.

Know-you-like-you-trust-you...which doesn't properly revere the exponential leap from NOT knowing you, to knowing you exist.

Once they know you...it's a comparatively incremental journey to liking you...and an even shorter journey to trusting you.

One proven fast track way to advance people to liking YOU is to show them you like THEM.

We have a natural and unconscious affinity to people who like us.

What can you do to demonstrate you like them?

Investing time and personal attention in them is a good start.

Most of the time, just taking the time to send a nice personal email to people to welcome them...or acknowledge them, goes a long way.

Short, personal messages work best.

It feels like you're speaking directly to them.

By the way...I like you.
