The technical capabilities include having a website designed, setting up a host, buying a domain name, creating a shopping cart, adding a buy button, and of course, sourcing all the items to sell and getting those listed on the website. All the infrastructure around being able to make the sale online.

The psychological capabilities of making a sale online are then the way you approach the marketing and the ability to compel customers to your website so they can buy something. It's the ability to attract someone to visit and return to your store. And it's this part that's often the biggest obstacle for people.

It's the psychological rather than technical challenge.

Here's what it looks like in real life.

When a company sets you up online, they're delivering the technical capabilities to make a sale. Very few go the extra step to deliver the psychological capabilities. It's not because they want you to fail. It's because they don't have the psychological capabilities to deliver those types of results.

So if you're in the web design industry, this is the perfect area to differentiate yourself from the competition. You could offer a done for you service where you deliver results. Not just setting up all the technical capabilities, but also putting in place the psychological capabilities to compel customers to the site.

Or you could complete the technical work and then set yourself up to be the trainer or coach for website owners, teaching them how to use psychology to attract the customers they need.

Do you see how focusing on the result they're really interested in makes you so much more valuable? That's the difference in the technical side of your business vs the psychological side.
