It's easy to imagine the benefits of time travel.
I think about it a lot.
The main advantage I can see is acting with certainty of future outcomes…knowing what's going to happen before it happens.
There is only an advantage if you take action on it before it happens.
I had this conversation with a Realtor client recently.
I said, imagine I have a time machine, and we could go back in time 100 weeks.
We could come back tonight, at midnight… but before we go, we can print out a list of every house that sold in the last two years.
How valuable would that list be?
The immediate advantage would be that you could focus all your energy and marketing efforts on these people…knowing they are going to sell.
What would you do with that level of certainty?
Of course, we'd still have to re-live those two years in real time…so the person who sold last month would still be 23 months away at the start.
Sadly, time travel is not a real thing. (Yet)
But what if we could get at least some of the benefits of time travel by planting time capsules for the future?
What if we could build a list of people who are going to sell their house in the NEXT 100 weeks?
That's exactly what we've been doing…and it's working out amazingly.
One of the things we do is offer a book to people who are "thinking of selling their house in the next 6–12 months."
We've been doing "lead audits" on the book leads at the 12 month mark.
So far…just over 30% of the people who ask for the book listed or sold their house within the last 12 months.
We've done the same thing with kitchens, bathrooms, remodels, fences, gates, shutters, blinds, reverse mortgages, beach condos…all kinds of businesses.
Until there's an actual way to make time travel possible…the next best thing you can do is focus on stuffing a time capsule with names, emails, and phone numbers of the people who PLAN on buying whatever it is you do in the NEXT 100 weeks.
And then…do everything you can in the next 100 weeks to be the best option when the moment arrives.
Questions to contemplate:
What would you do if you were CERTAIN they were going to buy?
How many would you want to put in the time capsule?
When would be a good time to start?
