I was watching some Dude Perfect videos over lunch the other day.
If you’ve never heard of them, let me tell you… Theirs is one of the greatest success stories of Youtube.
They’re five guys from Texas. And they have a channel on Youtube where all they do is perform trick-shots. Fun stuff like throwing basketballs off a high rise… performing trick shots at a football stadium... or go to a fantasy factory in their town… and so on.
In other words, all they do is have fun with throwing a ball, record those moments on video and upload them on Youtube.
And guess what? Just by doing that, they’re making $10 million a year. That's some crazy amount of money for doing fun stuff.
But the reason they’re able to pull it off is…
They've figured out who’s got the best audience for the stuff they were doing. And then partnered with them to do branded content on top of that.
They've figured out who’s got the best audience for the stuff they were doing.
For example…
They've got Oreo to sponsor their ping pong ball trick shots. They've got Gatorade to sponsor their “World's Longest Dunk Tank Throw”. They’ve got Hasbro to sponsor their bowling trick-shots. They’ve got lots of sponsors for all sorts of tricks.
And here’s the thing...
You can do the same.
Because no matter what your skills are, whatever it is that you’re doing...
There’s always somebody out there in another niche that would see those skills as a dream come true.
So, spend some time brainstorming, what about your “thing" actually makes money. And then, think about who else shares the same audience with you that you could partner with…
And create a mutually beneficial collaboration.
