When it comes to business, I take the scientific approach to everything I do.
What I mean by that is, I first come up with a hypothesis about what I think it might be true...
And then I go above and beyond to prove it, document everything in the process… and build my scale-ready algorithm around it.
For example…
Say, you help restaurants get more business. And you’ve realized that one of the major problems every restaurant owner faces is staff turnover. And you suspect that less employee turnover actually means more profits…
What you have right now, is just a hypothesis. A theory. You still need to have data to back that up.
You see, nobody buys just a theory. People pay money for results. And, in order for you to get those results, you have to approach it like a scientist.
First, you start with the N-of-1 study…
In other words, you go out and find ONE restaurant you can solve their turnover problem for. And prove that their revenue does increase by, say, 50% because of it.
And even if your goal is to solve all the employee turnover in every restaurant in the world… you have to start where you’re at: Solving the employee turnover in just one restaurant in your town.
Second, as you’re conducting your N-of-1 study, you document everything you do and all the outcomes you get…
What you’re doing here is you’re collecting proof. Building your case, and filling your database with real data.
And thirdly, after one successful case-study, you have to replicate the results on a second restaurant. And then a third one…. And a fourth… and so on.
You see, only when you’re able to achieve the same results for a number of different restaurants, you finally have what I call a scale-ready algorithm.
So now, you can go and deploy it to ANY restaurant you want… and be absolutely certain you can deliver the results you’re promising.
Because now, you’re not selling theories anymore. You’ve actually gone out and did it successfully over and over and over…
Now you’ve got “science” and a full database of results to back you up…
