I’ve been looking at office buildings here in Winter Haven recently.
And what I realized is...
When I see a building, I just can’t see its potential. I don’t have the imagination necessary to picture what the building could look like.
For example…
There was one particular building I remember, very old and very run down. It must have been an old factory back in the day. With barn doors and all that.
When I was looking at it, all I could see was this old structure that needs a lot of work. So I let it go.
But when I look at the building now - they’ve turned it into a brewery called Grove Roots - it’s stunning. They replaced the barn doors with big windows, repainted the whole lot, put beams inside…
It’s a completely different thing. And every time I pass the brewery now I think to myself, “That could’ve been me!”
But I don’t beat myself up because of it. Some people have the ability to see the potential of a building, some don’t...
Somebody can look at an old shack… plain, awkward looking and utilitarian… and then fix it up, repaint it, build an entry into with beautiful windows… put a dormer on it…
And bam! They change the whole dynamic of the way that building looks. All thanks to their vision.
It’s the same way I look at businesses - I see what other people don’t. And that’s imagination, too...
What I’m trying to say is, we all have different abilities. Something we’re better at than anybody else. Your job is to find what’s yours.
Because here’s the thing…
If you want a business built around your lifestyle, you have to build it around your unique ability.
If you want a business built around your lifestyle, you have to build it around your unique ability.
Even if you don’t know what that is yet, it’s worth spending the time to find that out…
Decide what’s the dream come true for you. Figure out what it is that you want to be doing, and how you want your days to look…
And then dedicate your focus and energy to create that reality for you.
It’s worth it ??
