Profit Activator 3, part four. Nine words to everybody who inquired and never went ahead. Ask if they're still looking, then don't add a single thing.
Good morning.
Day seven of Profit Activator week, and we're still on number three.
Yesterday was about the cookies. Making the next step something that's already baked, so nobody has to go out of their way.
Today I want to show you a magic trick.
It's my favorite thing I've ever created, and you could do it this afternoon.
But first, here's why Profit Activator 3 is the one I'd pick if I had to pick one.
Most of the profit activators are in and out. We choose the target market, and we move on. We work out the offer that gets somebody to raise their hand, and they pass straight through it.
Nobody stays there.
But the moment somebody raises their hand they land in Profit Activator 3, and they stay. Sometimes for a little while. Sometimes for years.
Every one of those people has real asset value in your business.
And the biggest mistake I see is counting only the ones who are ready right now. Somebody books a call, they buy, wonderful... and quietly, everybody else is dead to you.
So let's go and revive them.
Gather up everybody who ever inquired and didn't go ahead.
Look in your phone. Your texts. Your email. The desk drawers. The notebooks you scribble in. Look in the sofa cushions.
Anybody who at some point told you they were interested, and then it didn't happen.
Now send them nine words.
Hi Josh, are you still looking for a house in Georgetown?
That's the whole email. Period at the end.
Are you still planning that trip to Israel. Are you still looking for a yacht. Whatever it is you do.
Part of the magic is the word still, because it quietly says I know you were.
And part of it is what isn't in there. It's short, it's personal, and it's expecting a reply.
Here's where people ruin it.
They can't leave the mystery alone. Are you still looking for a house in Georgetown? Because if you are, here's what we can do... and if you're not, that's absolutely fine too.
Now there's nothing left to answer.
Think about the difference between standing on a table in Starbucks asking whether anybody in here is still looking for a house... and recognizing one person in the line, making eye contact, and asking them.
Everybody on your list has a one-to-one connection with you. They don't know or care that anyone else is on it.
So ask the question, and then shut up.
That silence is a vacuum. In real life, people feel compelled to fill it.
We had a client in Georgetown generating leads from people looking for a home there. Over a thousand of them.
Then her mother got cancer, and she spent eight months with her mother and ushered her through it.
When she was ready to come back to work she assumed she was starting from zero. Best part of a year with no focus on the business at all.
I asked whether she'd been in touch with any of the people who had inquired. She hadn't.
So we sent one email to all of them. Hi Josh, are you still looking for a house in Georgetown?
The replies started coming back. We're just getting started. That was a Wednesday.
She met one of them at the weekend. They bought a house on the Sunday.
She wasn't starting over at all. She just picked up where she'd left off, and carried on sending them the new homes every week.
My favorite one, though, is the yacht broker.
He'd joined a new brokerage in Fort Lauderdale, which is the yacht capital of America, and they had a file. An actual paper file, marked dead leads.
He went through it one at a time. Hi Bob, are you still looking for a yacht?
One of the replies came from a man who had a $120 million custom yacht on order, three years from delivery.
So he bought a $50 million yacht to tide him over.
From nine words, sent to a name in a folder that somebody had already given up on.
There's no harm in any of this. Somebody ghosted you, or you dropped the ball, and things fall through the cracks for everybody.
Gather them up, ask them a simple question, and you're going to win.
Then keep going. Every week, continue the dialogue. Send them the things that answer the questions standing between them and the thing they want... so you're paving the way into Profit Activator 4 and the offer.
Tomorrow we move on to Profit Activator 4.
Here's your nudge for today.
Find ten people who inquired and never went ahead, and send each of them nine words asking if they're still looking.
Then don't add a single thing to it... and see who writes back.

Want to see a magic trick? I'm going to show you how to do it and then you're going to get to do it. Welcome back. It's Profit Activator week.
We're talking about Profit Activator 3 today again, which is educate and motivate your prospects to meet you. And that's what lead conversion is all about. If I had a favorite profit activator, this one I think is my one. I love them all, but Profit Activator 3 is where some real magic happens because most of the other profit activators are kind of like in and out.
Like profit activator one, we do the work. We select who your target market is, then we move on. Profit activator two, we figure out how can we get them to raise their hand. What's the offer that we can do to generate the lead?
But they're not going to stay there. They're going to pass through Profit Activator 2 and as soon as they raise their hand, now they're a visible prospect and they land in Profit Activator 3. And they could be there for a little bit of time or they could be there for years. And every lead that you put into this asset, this portfolio, this group of people who have raise their hand to tell you that they're interested in something have real asset value in your business.
And the biggest mistake that I see people make is they're just focused on only the shortterm uh people, only the what they're looking for. the ones that come in right now, they come on a strategy call and they book or buy whatever it is that you're offering and then they're they're dead to you. And so I my magic trick, my favorite magic trick that I've ever created is something that I call the amazing nineword email that revives dead leads. So, if you have been generating leads, you've had inquiries, you've had people get a quote or they've inquired about something and decided not to go through with it.
This is where we get to gather up all of those people. Look in your telephone. Look in your texts, in your email, in your desk drawers, in the notebooks where you scribble down notes. Look in your sofa cushions.
gather up everybody that's ever inquired about doing business with you in some way and was not converted and we're going to send them a very simple email, just nine words. We're going to send them an email very similar to this. We're going to say, "Hi Josh, are you still looking for a house in Georgetown?" or "Are you still planning a trip to Israel?"
or whatever it is that you do. We want to just inquire about whether they're still interested or looking or considering or planning, whatever you want, whatever word you want to use in there, but it's not leading them anywhere other than to engage in the dialogue. Because remember, all we're looking for is to find the five-star prospects. and the five-star prospects are firstly willing to engage in a dialogue.
So, let's just try and and see that there's no point in making an offer to people who are not interested or looking for whatever it is you do. Um, this one I've seen so many, you know, magic stories happen as a result of this. That one that I mentioned, are you still looking for a house in Georgetown? was the original one that we one of our our website uh clients had been generating all these leads for people who were looking for a home in Georgetown.
Unfortunately, her mother got cancer and had a uh period, you know, 8 months. She was kind of 100% with her mother and ushered her mother through that process. And then when she was ready to get back to work, she thought, "Okay, I'm going to have to start over again because, you know, I have she's had zero focus on work." And I just asked a simple question.
I said, "Have you been in touch with any of the people that inquired?" because she had generated, you know, over a thousand leads of people who were looking for a house in Georgetown at one point. And she said, "No, I haven't done anything." And so I said, "Well, let's just start there.
Let's start and send an email to everybody that came to your website and left their name in their email to search homes." and we sent out an email and all it said was, "Hi Josh, are you still looking for a house in Georgetown?" Period. And she got all of these replies.
People were replying back saying, "Yeah, we're just getting started." And this happened on a Wednesday or Thursday. She ended up meeting with one of the people who had uh replied on the weekend and they bought a house that Sunday. So, it happened immediately and she was now re-engaged with all the people who had come in but hadn't yet bought and she just picked up where she left off, continuing to educate and motivate people by sending them every week updates of all the homes that came on the market.
So, if you've got all a lot of of people or any amount of people that maybe somebody's ghosted you, maybe somebody has you've you've dropped the ball on people and it's okay. Everybody has things fall through the cracks. But if you just gather them up and ask them a simple question, you're going to win. I mean, there's no harm in it.
And the fact I think part of the magic of it is just that you're saying, "Are you still looking for or interested in?" And that right there implies that you know that they were. And by the way, we're only ever talking to the people who are looking for help. I'm not worried ever about what's happening with the people who are not.
I'm only shaping my conversation to the people who are at the top, who are my ideal prospects. So that's why I say you never talk about the option, you know, be and never finish, never solve the mystery for them. Part of the magic of the nineword email is that it's short, it's personal, and it's expecting a reply. And when you It's like if I look at everything we do is so conversational.
Imagine that you went into Starbucks and you recognize that everybody in the Starbucks is someone who's inquired on your website or someone that you've had a uh an interaction with. Now, they don't know their relation to each other because people on your list have a oneto-one connection to you. They don't know or care that they're on a list of other people. Makes no difference.
So, the choice and the way that most people approach email marketing is they'll approach it like they're broadcasting a message to a group of people. So, I'll be the equivalent of standing up on the table, grabbing your your cup, and attention everybody. Can I have your attention, please? If any of you are still looking for a house in Georgetown, you know, please reach out to me or please see me over in the corner, whatever it is, you're not speaking to one person in the same way that if you were in line with them and you recognize, you made eye contact and you recognize, "Oh, I know you."
And then you say to them, "Hi, are you still looking for a house in Georgetown?" And then you shut up. That silence is a vacuum that will draw people in. If you did that in real life, people would feel compelled to have to respond and fill that void.
And that's what is a downfall for many of the people who are trying to send the nword email is they're trying to solve the mystery and saying, "Are you still looking for a house in Georgetown?" Because if you are, this is then. If you're not, that's okay, too. Well, anything that solves that mystery is a problem.
We're thinking only about engaging with the people who are still interested or looking to do whatever it was that they raised a hand to tell you that they were interested in. My favorite story of the nineword email is a yacht broker that we worked with who had joined a new brokerage in Fort Lauderdale, which is like the yacht capital of America. And uh they had a file, a literal file called dead leads and it was a paper print out of all the people that had inquired or inquired about things on their website and didn't go anywhere and they were all like marked dead. And so he took that file and one by one he just sent a simple email to them and said, "Hi Bob, are you still looking for a yacht?"
Period. That's it. That was the whole email. He sent that out and he would get replies.
But more importantly, he found a guy who bought a $120 million custom yacht that was going to take three years to be delivered. So he bought a $50 million yacht to tide him over until his $120 million yacht was available. Now that all from just taking the initiative to send a simple personal email to someone who at some point inquired about yachts. So there's so many of these people in your life.
This is the most important thing you can do is gather everybody up and start and see who's ready right now just by seeing who's engaged with those. And then you can make it a point that every week you're going to continue the dialogue with them. Send them valuable information. send them things that are going to build the case in their mind that this is something that I want to do.
It's going to answer all the questions that would get in their way of building a deck or of buying a yacht or of, you know, doing whatever it is that you help people do. help them gather and answer all the questions that they need to get answered so that you're paving the way so that you can move on to Profit Activator 4 and make your offer. So, tune in tomorrow and we'll move into Profit Activator 4. I got a funny email the other day from Rick.
It says, Dean, question. Are you saying you can teach me to make fat stacks by hanging out at a pub drinking coffee like you? And I laughed to myself because I was thinking, you know, yes, I I can do that. That's what I do.
is the funny thing. What I really realized is that every idea that I've had, every dollar that I've made over the last 30 years has gone through my brain, through my pen onto a piece of paper in my journal before it went out into the real world. And if I can turn people on to that activity as a driver for what to do, what to think about, what to ask yourself to draw out, what the next most valuable action is for you, and how to find the most profitable things that you can install in your business. I'm all for it.
