How to Make It Ridiculously Easy for People to Say Yes

Ask someone to take a chance on you and you get resistance. Offer to take a chance on them and the way is easy. Here's how I built a rocket ship on that.
Good morning. We're still in My Life in Advertising by Claude Hopkins.
And I keep calling it My Life Applying My Life in Advertising, because every time I reread this book I see the seed of something I actually did.
Stuff I made money with. Sitting right there in a principle Claude wrote down over a hundred years ago.
Here's the one on my mind today.
Nobody cares about your selfish desires.
Nobody is interested in helping you do something that's an advantage to you.
To succeed we have to care more for serving than selling.
You can see the whole seed of Jay Abraham right there. The strategy of preeminence. Taking on a kind of moral responsibility that this person gets the best outcome they possibly can.
And sometimes that means you have to charge more.
Not less. More.
Because a cheaper price that doesn't actually get them the result isn't serving them at all.
So stop positioning your product against the money they have available.
Start positioning it against the outcome. The bigger win that comes from using it.
Now, here's the line from Claude that this all hangs on.
Ask a person to take a chance on you, and you're met with resistance. But offer to take a chance on him, and the way is easy.
Read that twice.
Because that's everything.
Think about Money Making Websites. Five times more expensive than a regular website.
I knew they worked. I knew if somebody did the things I outlined, they'd have success.
But asking them to take a chance on me? To hand over the money and hope? That's a fight.
So I flipped it.
I created an offer where I was one hundred percent taking a chance on them.
Claude called it a proposition which no reasonable person could refuse.
Hormozi has the same thing now. An offer so good they'd feel dumb saying no.
That's the extreme version. But it's the same truth underneath.
And here's what happened when I put my outcome on the line for their outcome.
It stopped being about convincing anybody.
It became about me selecting the right person.
Because I was so confident, I got to have requirements.
You had to be in real estate at least a year or two.
You had to live in a town of more than twenty thousand people.
You had to have time to personally work with buyers and sellers. Not shuffle them off to someone on your team.
See what that does?
An irresistible offer draws people with zero friction. And then I get to be picky.
That was rocket fuel.
So here's the shift for you.
Stop asking what price they'll accept.
Start asking what would actually need to happen for them to get the result.
Price it accordingly.
And then reverse the risk. Not reduce it. Reverse it.
Put your outcome on the line for theirs.
That one move changed everything for me.
It could do the same for you.

Okay. Good morning. We are continuing my series on my life applying My life in Advertising by Claude Hopkins. And I'm fascinated as I'm reading these again probably, you know, I don't know how many times, but as I read it I can see the seed of a lot of the most successful things that I've done are built in these principle based ideas that I learned from Claude Hopkins who was doing this over 100 years ago now. And this kind of thought that I'm thinking about here is being completely outwardly focused on the person that you're trying to, that you're trying to help is the way nobody at all is interested in selfish, your selfish desires.
You trying to convince people to do something that's going to be of any advantage to you. Nobody cares about that. And this was a very interesting, I think as a principle based is that you know, to succeed we have to care more for serving than selling. And you can see the seed of that, that Jay Abraham is, you know, really the personification of this with Jay's strategy of preeminence, of focusing on being the preeminent solution for somebody and that taking on kind of a moral responsibility to make sure that they get the best outcome that they can. And sometimes that means that you need to charge more for your price.
It's not just to make it so that it's a price that's acceptable to them when it doesn't really do the job or get the outcome that they're, that they really need. You almost owe it to yourself to or you owe it to them to make that experience a way that it really gets the result and stop positioning your product against the current money that they have available to invest in something and start positioning it against the outcome. The bigger win that's going to come because and through their relationship with using your website. So I meant or your product. I mentioned our money making websites.
I knew that they would have an amazing outcome with their website but it was a, it was more expensive than regular websites. So I had to create an offer that I love his things. I had a proposition which no reasonable person could refuse. And that's so interesting. Even Alex Hormozi has his thing of hundred million dollar offers as make your offer so good they'd feel dumb not taking advantage of it.
That's taking that to the extreme. That's really what it is. But at the core of that is this inevitable truth that ask a person to take a chance on you and you have a fight, you're met with resistance, you're trying to get somebody to take a chance that give me the money and hopefully it's going to work out for them. But if you offer to take a chance on him, the way is easy. And so that there couldn't be a more true maxim, you know that that comes from this.
So focusing on what is it, what what's needed to actually get the result that they want. Like I know it wasn't enough to offer somebody just a website, the technical things here it is. I knew that there was, there was a methodology to it and a psychology of how we approached the websites that made them money making websites and that that takes time and effort to convey to somebody and that costs money to, to do. So I was able to, instead of getting them to take a chance on me, I was able to create an offer where I was 100% taking a chance on them. I knew that our websites work.
I knew that if they did the things that I outlined that they would have success. So I felt like it was very easy for me to take a chance on them. And it was more now about me selecting who the right person is rather than me trying to convince anybody that would buy the websites to take a chance on us. And that was a rocket fuel for that business for us because I was, because I was putting my outcome on the line of getting their outcome with certainty.
That became the big thing. So I was able to be more selective. I had a list of requirements that if you were going to come on board with our money making website that you had to meet certain requirements. You had to be in real estate for at least one to two years. You had to live in a town of more than 20,000 people.
You had to have time to work with new people and personally work with buyers and sellers, not shuttling them off to somebody on your team. All of these things allowed me because I had an irresistible offer to draw people with zero friction and get them the result and have a rocket ship that grew our, our money making websites business. So in your situation start thinking what would it be, what would need to happen in order to actually get the result that people are looking for. And price your product or service accordingly, but then make it so that it, the outcome is guaranteed in a risk reversed kind of way, not just in a risk reduction. So this is exciting.
I think this was a very big, a very big pivotal shift for me and it could be for you too. Every idea that I've had, every dollar that I've made over the last 30 years has gone through my brain through my pen onto a piece of paper in my journal before it went out into the real world. And if I can turn people onto that activity as a driver for what to do, what to think about, what to ask yourself to draw out, what the next most valuable action is for you and how to find the most profitable things that you can install in your business. I'm all for it. So this Friday at 1pm I'm going to do for the first time a 50 minute profit finder workshop and you're going to join me live on Zoom and we're going to go through a 50 minute exercise.
Bring your pen, bring a notebook or piece of paper and I'm going to guide you through a thinking process that will help you identify where the lowest hanging fruit is in your business. And maybe some fruit that you didn't even know was there. But. But I'm going to show you where to look for it. So it's free.
