Ever notice the subtle patterns in your daily life?
I like to start my day with breakfast at my favorite Honeycomb Bakery.
Today, I realized a lot of other people have intersecting routines with mine.
There's JoJo, the home health worker who pops in every morning for a coffee to go.
There's the mother and son who have breakfast and philosophical discussions at the table next to me.
There's Rose…the 20-something stay at home daughter who picks up matchas and pastries for her aging parents and niece who mostly wait in the van.
The mailman who always greets me with a nod and a "What's up, boss?"
I like the thought that you and I are connected in our own Groundhog Day kind of way.
My second stop is at my new favorite café, with a corner couch where I have a blackberry tea and hatch evil schemes.
Including writing this email.
There's a whole new cast of characters in this routine… including the guy who keeps this couch warm for me until I arrive, and we joke about him clocking out as I'm clocking in.
That's just the first couple of hours of my day.
For some reason, I noticed it this morning and it got me thinking about how we're all running our own Groundhog Day patterns.
Feels comforting to know we're all doing it.
It doesn't take long for something to become a familiar pattern.
I like the thought that you and I are connected in our own Groundhog Day kind of way.
From my side, it's nice to know you're there.
I love that when we meet, we have a familiar connection.
I get to experience it every time I do a live event and someone says, "I've been reading your emails for years, I feel like I know you."
Take this as an encouragement to be a consistent part of someone's Groundhog Day experience.
