Made a new friend this weekend.
Meet Scott Ginsberg.
He's been wearing a nametag 24/7 since November 2000.
He says it makes people friendlier.
I've been catching up on his blog HelloMyNameIsBlog.com -- and he's going to be a special guest on Marketing Monday in a couple of weeks.
Here's a couple of interesting things...
He considers himself to be the luckiest guy he knows...and it's because he meets way more people than the average bear.
Over 100,000 since he started 2428 days ago.
On average 3 to 5 people a day approach him and ask about the name tag. It's a conversation starter, and he always tells people he wears it because it makes people friendlier.
Then they find out he writes books and gives talks on APPROACHABILITY.
Very congruent messsage.
Would you be willing to wear a nametag for one day...just to see what happens?
Not a commercial, professionally engraved tombstone name tag (first and last name, company, logo) -- but a hand written "Hello, My Name Is Dean" nametag.
I'm going to try it myself.
Maybe we can all do it together.
