Got some new sneakers this weekend.
Went in to a pretty busy running store in Georgetown and heard the guy ask a couple of people before me if he could help them.
They politely declined, and he came to me next.
I asked him to recomend something good for walking.
He measured my foot for length and width.
Asked me to walk to the door and back 3 times.
He said he'd be right back with some options.
He came back with 5 pairs of sneakers and sat down in one of those shoe store chairs with the foot rest.
He put each pair of shoes on my feet and tied them up for me. (It's quite luxurious to have someone tie your shoes for you.)
When I walked around a little, he'd ask how they felt, and after each round we would set aside the "winner" so far.
At the end of five pairs, and a quick re-check of the one we had set aside as the winner, I was in possession of the most comfortable pair of sneakers I've ever put on my feet.
I was a 5-Star Prospect for new sneakers that day, and his almost "over the top" helpfulness was truly appreciated.
It just strengthens my belief that you can't go wrong treating people like 5-Star Prospects, because some of them ARE.
5-Star Prospects really appreciate special treatment. Try it. It works.
