August comes along and I start getting the calls...
If the market slows in August, it slows in August.
You can check and see if this is an anomaly or if it is part of the regular cycle -- if you've been with us over a year. You can use your Google account to see what your particular market cycle does
Click on the REPORTS tab, ** Create a Report Now », **
**1. Report Type ** -- Campaign Performance
2. Settings View (Unit of Time) -- MONTHLY Date Range -- ALL TIME CAMPAIGNS -- ALL
CREATE REPORT
The information that is returned, will be a report that shows you month-by-month the traffic that you've had - since you started the campaigns. You'll be able to see the natural cycle of things -- ie. higher traffic in March and lower in June. (** caveat is that you or we may have done something like, pause the account for vacation, or experiments with ads or keywords **)
Now, I choose to download the report into Excel, so that I can manipulate it and use the graphing features of excel -- since I'm a visual kind of gal. I chose to use IMPRESSIONS for this chart, because we're trying to see how many people are out there searching.
You can see that there's a bit of a trend. For the market I used -- people tend to search in January, May, July, and September - with 2003 and 2004 being pretty volatile. (Sorry it didn't come out in color - but you get the idea).
For this particular market, traffic drops in August. It's just a fact. So we go with it.
Even in a slow market, you should be "cultivating" your getresponse account. If you have listings -- send a message like this...

BODY: Hi [firstname]
Because we know you're looking for a home in [pre_wherever], I thought you'd be interested in seeing what your dollar can buy!
Did you know that for only $350,000 you could own a stunning home in Mountain Shadows with about 4200 sq ft.
This home is in an area with mountain views, mature landscaping and that "West Side" feel that most people want. Surprisingly, this feels like a new home.
