9-word email variations

Dean Jackson 2 min read

Let’s say you’ve already generated a few leads.

Maybe you’ve got 200 people on your email list, who inquired about something months ago. Or even last year.

So what would be the perfect 9-word email to re-engage with them?

The most popular one is a variation of “Are you still looking for [blank]?”.

This type of 9-word email makes sense when people come on your email list looking for something. A guide about whatever… a price quote…or the availability of something.

Maybe they asked a question in the past but then things died out.

So when you send them “are you still interested” or “are you still looking for” type of email, you anchor them back to the original inquiry.

The second variation to the 9-word email is “Would you like to get started”.

And what’s great about this one is, it's very effective when you have a time element to your offers.

I often use this type of email for our 90-minute book business.

For example, at the beginning of every month, we send out “Would you like to get started on your book this month?”

And towards the end of the year, we send a variation of it that says, “Would you like to get your book done before the end of the year?”

Whenever you have a reason somebody might like to get stuff done because of a time element… That’s a great opportunity to use this type of email.

And then there’s the third variation to the 9-word email. The “Would you like to join us?” invitation...

Here’s an example:

“I'm getting together with some people on Thursday to brainstorm nine-word emails and subject lines. Would you like to join us?”

There's something magical about setting things up in a very specific way... and then inviting people to join you. And even if they don’t join you for that particular occasion…

It's a great process to start a dialogue that can lead to collaboration.

And there you have it. Three different ways to use a 9-word email to re-engage with your prospects.

It’s very simple to model these for whatever you're doing. But there’s only one caveat…

They work best when you lead with the giving hand. Meaning, don’t make these emails about you…

Start out with something that's going to help your prospects first.
