It seems like a lot of people wonder if they're "doing it right" or if their numbers are ok...so here's a quick review of how the numbers should work:
EYEBALLS:
This is the number of visitors you're getting to the site. You can check these numbers by logging in to your google or overture accounts and looking at the account summary reports.
Good = 250 - 500 (monthly)
Beter = 500 - 1000
Best = 1000 +
EMAILS
This is the number of people who come to your website and leave their name and email address to come inside.
You can check this number by looking in your getresponse account and seeing how many people are in your active prospects list for the day/week/month.
Good = 15 - 20%
Better = 20 - 25%
Best = 25% or more
IF you have less than 15% of the people who come to your site leaving their name and email address...there is something wrong.
It's usually one of two things. You're either bidding on terms that are not real estate specific, or you're using "content matching" in your google and overture accounts.
If you're below 15% -- and it's not one of those 2 things...you need a check up. Call us.
How to calculate:
EMails / Eyeballs = Email Conversion %
(Take the number of emails in your getresponse account and divide it by the number of visitors you had for the same period)
HEARTS
This is the number of people who ask for MarketWatch, Home Loan Reports, Seller books, or sign up for your Home Buyer Workshop.
Most of your response will come right away, while they are on your site the first time, but some of the response will come as a result of your getresponse email messages.
Good = 15 - 20%
Better = 20 - 25%
Best = 25% +
This number includes both the people who raise their hand while they're on your site, and the people who ask for something as a result of one of your email messages.
How to calculate:
Hearts / Emails = Lead Reponse %
(take the number of leads and divide them by the number of emails for the same period ie. day/week/month)
Those are the "science" numbers..the numbers that happen without you doing anything.
At this point, we enter into the ART of lead conversion...and you're numbers will vary depending on your skill, persistance, personality and tenacity.
My main concern is to make sure the "science" is working...so we know that we just need to work on the ART of lead conversion.
