One of my favorite 9-word email stories is about a guy who taught jiu-jitsu classes.
It goes like this…
Some time ago, I was running full-page ads in Success Magazine. They were about my Email Mastery book and talked about this amazing nine-word email that revives dead leads.
People would read that ad, opted-in to download the full PDF. And then, I’d invite them to join me in a teleconference where we’d brainstorm these 9-word emails and subject lines.
The first person who signed up for those sessions was this guy with a jiu-jitsu program. And he later told me that he read the ad, got the book, sent out a 9-word email…
And immediately got five people to sign up for his $1,800 program.
Here’s the email he sent…
“Hi Dean, Are you still interested in learning jiu-jitsu?”
That’s it. That little email generated $9,000 from a list of 2,000 names.
And it’s not uncommon. Every time, people get blown away by what happens when they send a 9-word email out.
In fact, I send one out every month myself…
I have a company called 90-MinuteBooks where we help people write and publish their first book. And on the first of the month, we send out a message that says, "Hi, Dean. Would you like to get started on your book this month?”
Guess what happens? Every single time... four, five, six people pop out saying "Yes, I'm ready.”
Here’s another example...
My girlfriend owns a studio here in Winter Haven called Amazing Brows and Lashes. Every month, she sends out an email that says, "Hi, Dean. Would you like to get your eyebrows done this month?” And she gets four, five, six people who book.
Nobody on your list gets upset about you asking that question.
Now, here’s the amazing thing. Nobody on your list gets upset about you asking that question. Because it's easy to say, "No, thank you," or ignore it completely.
But if somebody’s ready for whatever it is that you’re asking…
Well, in that case, it’s even easier for them to say, "I was just thinking that."
The 9-word email is like an annuity. Except it pays out monthly. All you do is send a quick check-in and it’s cash in your bank.
It’s the best magic trick you’ll ever see.
